Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day

As all eyes are on Iran and their terror proxies in the Middle East, let’s take time to remember the evil regime that attempted to eliminate the Jews in WWII is not much different than the evil regime in Iran today that vows to “wipe Israel off the map.”

For those of us in the west, it is virtually impossible to truly know and understand exactly what took place, not only in the physical lives of the Jewish people as they were slaughtered in the Holocaust, but also what must have demonized them in thought and emotion. The Nazis didn’t just kill Jews, they maimed, massacred and mutilated them. Sound familiar?

October 7 was a stark reminder of the evil perpetrated against the Jewish people simply for being Jewish. Ironically, Israel just brought back the body of the last hostage from that war. Meanwhile, Iran, who masterminded the attack in which Hamas jumped the gun, is hellbent on destroying Israel, the “little Satan,” then coming full bore for the US, the “great Satan.”

It is important to understand the spiritual battle that is raging. This is not a political war, but a spiritual one. Understand the history to understand today’s motivation of the ayatollah. Below is a simple overview of the Holocaust, plus Scriptural encouragement to remind us that God is not done with His uniquely-called people (Jews) yet!

Check it out, then spend the day remembering those who perished needlessly in the Holocaust.

PS: Visiting the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum and meeting Holocaust survivors in Israel is an experience that will change your life forever. ONE FOR ISRAEL has open tours in June and November and we would love to host you. (Check out the tour page.) Better still, talk to your church leaders about organizing a private tour, or connecting with another church to fill a tour. I am happy to help customize a trip that is sure to make a lasting impact. Contact me (Kym) at 817-776-2367 or kym@oneforisrael.org to discuss possibilities! Shalom!
