Over the past several days we have witnessed dozens of Israeli hostages freed from Gaza. We rejoice over that! Indeed, prayers are being answered and at least a few families are being reunited.
However, don’t lose sight of the fact that only about 60 Israelis (and several others of different nationalities) have been released. A total of about 240 are known to be missing in Gaza, either kidnapped or dead. There is still much work to be done.
The media, however, seems to paint pictures different than reality. For example, the footage of hostage releases is filled with smiling hostages waving to the cameras, and armed Hamas operatives “helping” to evacuate the captives. Don’t be fooled! No on uses the media to twist reality any better than Palestinians. For decades they have weaponized media to spread false narratives and garner worldwide support for their “cause.” That cause? Sapping billions of dollars in “humanitarian aid” from nations around the world (including the US), only to use the money to build super sophisticated tunnels beneath hospitals, schools, homes, mosques and other places they know Israel will not attack. Sickening!
The IDF warns us not to take media at face value. Here is why:
Don’t buy into the false narrative of Hamas and others. Remember: they view media as a weapon, and they love to turn it on us! Don’t be fooled.
