What happens when a young mother and father are brutally murdered, leaving twin baby boys in the middle of a terrorist “rest stop?”
Kfar Aza was one of several kibbutzim attacked on October 7. When terrorists raided the home of Itai and Hadar Berdichevsky, the proud couple of 9-month-old twins had taken shelter in their safe room. While trying to protect their kids, savage beasts murdered the young couple and left the babies alive to serve as “bait,” knowing their cries would lure rescuers into the home where Hamas murderers would kill others.
For 13 hours, Roi and Guy laid unattended while Hamas terrorists sat in the living room eating food from the family’s refrigerator. Their home became a rest stop for terrorist in the midst of their savagery.
Those little guys were eventually rescued and what follows is a heart-warming story of extended family who are now raising those precious little ones. The emotions will tug at your heart, but it is difficult not to think of another 9-month-old (now 10-month-old) who was not quite so fortunate. Kfir Bibas is his name, and his parents and 4-year-old brother are also being held captive. Kfir is the youngest hostage in Gaza.
So, as you rejoice that Roi and Guy are being loved and cared for by extended family, please pray for the Bibas family and remember that their son of the same age is in captivity right now.
PS: In the picture above, the faces of Israeli hostages are projected on to the walls of the Old City. I pray that before this post goes live, the Bibas family and others will be released by Hamas. Meanwhile, the faces on the wall are a stark reminder to pray for all hostages until they are home. Please pray.
