Deuteronomy 30:19 tells us that God sets life and death, blessings and curses before us, and He clearly tells us, “Choose life!”

We often put that into context of abortion, and it very much applies to that issue. However, this commandment of God is much broader than that, and we see it play out in the war between Israel and Hamas. The contrast is crystal clear: Israel is for life, while Hamas is for death. Blessings come with life, while curses come with death.

Here is evidence of the contrast between Israel and Hamas. Decide for yourself:

This first image is a copy of the Hamas attack plan left behind at one of the terrorists sites. Notice the date of publication (October 2022). Hamas’ plan of death was premeditated for at least a year. Their goal: death to as many Israelis (particularly women and children) as possible.

Meanwhile, in order to save the lives of civilians in Gaza, the IDF dropped hundreds of thousands of leaflets like the one to the right, warning Gaza residents to evacuate and go to shelters before the IDF came in. In addition to leaflets, thousands of calls (albeit, perhaps automated) were made to residents in the area of direct danger, warning them to leave. As a result, despite the incredibly intense bombing in Gaza, fewer terrorist were killed (in Gaza) than civilians in Israel. Yet, what do we hear on the news? How awful Israel is to kill “innocent” people.

Israel stands for life, Hamas stands for death. Need another example? Here’s one:

In a video taken in Gaza, it appears Gazans are carrying a very young, limp child with blood on its face. The message was that Israel was killing children in their counter attacks in Gaza. Upon closer inspection of the video (and the accompanying clip from it), it is clear the “dead child” is actually a doll. It’s great for international sympathy votes, though.

However, in one of the most gruesome photos on social media, a pair of totally unrecognizable Jewish babies are seen burned to death. In some cases, babies were taken from their families and burned to death right in front of them. It is disgusting, and sheer evidence that Hamas stands for death, while Israel stands for life.

Finally, as story after story comes out about Jewish mothers and fathers covering their children with their bodies in order to protect them, here is what Hamas does with their children:

¹⁹ I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.
