Understanding the Israeli Mindset

One thing to learn quickly about Israelis: do not underestimate their zeal for life! You don’t have to spend much time getting to know them to figure that out! Israel took the biggest hit on their homeland in their 75-year history, yet except around the borders of Gaza, life quickly returned to usual in 90% of the country.

Believe it or not, tours are still running and all the national parks and tourist sites, except those near the danger zone, are open. Citizens are working and going to school as usual. Weddings and Bar Mitzvahs go on as planned. Even under threat of other potential attacks, the Jewish people go on with life.

That doesn’t mean there are not tremendous emotional struggles and unbelievable hardship. It doesn’t mean it won’t take years to overcome the trauma. What it means is that, despite it all, Israelis will overcome, and the way they do it is to get back to normal life as quickly as possible, and maintain it as consistently as possible.

They are also very dogged when backed into a corner. Here is a recent Telegram post from Amir Tsarfati that illustrates this:

"98% of Israelis are demanding the complete annihilation of our enemies. Everything we ever invented or developed in the past 75 years is so we can live as free people in our country. It's time to cut the head o the snake and starve the bloodthirsty beast that is around us and within us. Jewish blood is not cheap! This is the hour by which the entire career of Netanyahu will be remembered! Anything less than the complete destruction of those who rise up to kill us and those who train, fund and sponsor them will not be accepted! You have no idea what level of resilience, perseverance and determination is in the hearts and minds of Israelis now."

I believe Israel has awakened from their politically-induced slumber to unite and exact a price on terrorists who have spent decades antagonizing the Jewish people. Perhaps Israel will now serve up the consequences that should have been given many years ago, so their zeal for life can be unleashed in full.
