Tourism is making a roaring comeback in Israel, where the number of visitors is reaching pre-pandemic levels. That’s exciting for the Israeli economy and for our opportunities as Christians to bless Israel.
Meanwhile, during the lockdowns, Israeli archaeologists and contractors were busy unearthing new findings and building new things! Those things are now coming to fruition in big ways. New discoveries at places such as Shiloh, City of David, and many other places are now being made public and tourists are seeing them for the first time!
Tourists are also visiting new structures. For example, there is a new suspension bridge spanning the Valley of Hinnom (also known as Gehenna), to the south of the southern walls of the Old City. At various times in history, the valley was either a garbage dump or a place where babies were sacrificed to the false god, Molech.
The bridge is said to provide stunning views of the Old City and surrounding area, and will lead to an agricultural area filled with lush vegetation, a natural spring and hiking trails. To be sure, I’ll check that out on a free day during or following our October 2023 tour. (You can find out more about the new bridge here.)
Likewise, the museum at the Tower of David (just inside Jaffa Gate) is now open as well. On previous tours we have taken people to the laser light show cast upon the gigantic outside walls of the citadel, but I’ll also be checking out the indoor museum as a future tour stop.
Lots of new opportunities exist in Israel and I would love to share the experience with you in February 2024. Seats are still available and we are extending the group discount (4 or more) for a few more weeks. Check out the 2024 EXPERIENCE ISRAEL Tour page for more information.
PS: Please help us in the final push to fill the February 2024 tour by forwarding this information to others who may have an interest in going with us! Thank you!
