Sunset this evening marks Rosh HaShanah…head of the year. It is Israel’s civic (not Biblical) new year, and it also marks the end of a record-setting year of aliyah.
“Aliyah” is a Hebrew word meaning to return to the Jewish homeland. After being dispersed by Roman destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD, Jews scattered around the world until the 1900’s when Jews began returning to the homeland. Since 1948, when Israel was reborn as a nation, aliyah has increased each decade, fulfilling prophetic Scripture such as:
For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land.
~Ezekiel 36:24
I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land.
~Ezekiel 37:14
Well, take a look at the record being set as this civic new year comes to a close in Israel:
Dear friends, the last days are marked by fulfillment of prophecy, and we’re seeing very important prophecies fulfilled before our eyes.
As we celebrate this Rosh HaShanah (known Biblically as the Feast of Trumpets), I leave you with an all-time favorite:
I love this, too! I cry!! Maranatha!!
One of my favorite videos! Chag Yom Teruah Sameach!
One of my favorites, too, Beth! I was so blessed to be present for its debut at a special celebration of the opening of the Embassy in 2018. It still leaves me with “God bumps” every time I hear it! Chag Yom Teruah Sameach! Looking forward to our time in Israel!
