When God shakes things up, it is often a call to action! Our nation and our world are beginning to shake, so it’s time for Christians to show up!

That definitely includes living out our faith and fulfilling the Lord’s command to be about our Father’s business. Indeed, we are to be ready at all times to share God’s Word (2 Timothy 4:2), to make disciples (Matthew 28:19), to teach others God’s ways (Matthew 28:20), and to do justly, show mercy and walk humbly with our God (Micah 6:8).

Our faith should never hide within the walls of a church building. Rather, it should shine most brightly in the world around us. Faith is greatly needed in the public square, yet Christians have abdicated that arena to those who do not hold the same values we do. Now, we clearly see the results of leaving politics to others. Actually, “politics” is the result of handing over civic responsibility to those who lust after evil. God created and ordained government and civic responsibility…our abdication opened the door to “politics.”

So, it is now time to show up! If we do, we could see God do incredibly amazing things in and through those yielded to Him. If we do not, America will be forever lost to those who desire our demise.

I recently found two very timely resources. First, check out Evangelical group to spend about $40M mobilizing Christian vote ahead of midterms.

Secondly, MyFaithVotes has some very helpful election resources, including easy-to-find and easy-to-use assistance in registering to vote, a customized voter guide (based on your address), and various ways to get plugged into the upcoming mid-term elections. The party platforms of both parties are available on that site as well. I especially encourage you to read those…then determine which party most closely aligns with your values. Friends, it is time for Christians to show up and fulfill our civic responsibility. We can no longer abdicate that responsibility and believe God will somehow “bless us out of this mess.” Time is short…let’s get in the game!
