Blessed Lord’s Day, friends!

Are you anxious for the day our Lord comes in glory? I am! Now, though, we live in an evil and perverse world, but God’s Word is filled with encouragement of what is to come.

Take a moment to settle in with our friends at One for Israel, and consider what is to come:

"So Haman took the robe and the horse, and arrayed Mordecai, and led him on horseback through the city square, and proclaimed before him, 'Thus it shall be done to the man whom the king desires to honor'" (Esth 6:11). No doubt, Haman was completely humiliated by dressing up this Jewish man to look like a king, but it was, after all, just a momentary gesture. All he had to do was crucify him upon the stake he had prepared for him (Esth 5:14) and this would all be over.... Wouldn't it? No, this was a sign of real things to come! "Then Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in royal robes of blue and white, with a large crown of gold and a garment of fine linen and purple; and the city of Susa shouted and rejoiced" (Esth 8:15). No doubt, the Roman soldiers intended to completely humiliate Jesus by dressing him up to look like a king. "They stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him. And after twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand; and they knelt down before Him and mocked Him, saying, 'Hail, King of the Jews!'" (Matt 27:28-29). But it was, after all, just a momentary gesture. All they had to do was crucify him upon the stake and this would all be over.... Wouldn't it? How encouraging to know in times like these that what the Roman soldiers did in jest was in fact a sign of real things to come! "But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before Him..." (Matt 25:31-32).

Yes, one day He will sit on His glorious throne while all nations gather to worship Him! What a glorious day that will be!
