Soon we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ! We are reminded of His birth by nativity scenes on display, representing magi bringing gifts to the newborn King. But amidst the celebration, have you ever wondered, “How did the Magi know they were supposed to go see a baby?” “How did they know He was a King?” “How did they know when to go?” “How did they know what the star in the sky meant?”
Those thoughts occupied my mind in younger years, and I still haven’t gotten all the answers I want. So, let’s take a journey together! One for Israel and Answers in Genesis provide what I believe to be among the best explanations I have heard. Take a few minutes to discover how they knew what they knew, and what prompted them to take a very long journey to worship the birth of a baby.
