Happy Lord’s Day, friends!
If you are a believer in Jesus, do you remember your baptism? What a beautiful image of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ that atoned for our sins. In baptism, we identify with our Savior.
But there is more to understand about baptism, and it is clearly explained in today’s devotional.
BTW – Baptism does not save anyone. The apostle Paul stated it clearly in Romans 10:9 when he said, if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Ephesians 2:8-10 also tells us we are saved by grace through faith, not as a result of works. Baptismal waters have no power to save, but is the believer’s outward confession of their faith in Christ.
If you are a believer but have not been immersed in baptism since you surrendered your life to Jesus, you are missing out on the blessings described in today’s devotional! Why not talk to your pastor and ask to be baptized.
If you were baptized as a baby, that was super sweet of your parents who obviously loved you and wanted you to love and follow God. However, that did not save you. You have direct access to the Savior of the world and He is waiting to welcome you to His family.
