Pesach Semeach…Happy Passover! It is always good to celebrate a joyous Sunday morning in the midst of Passover! The Jewish feast commemorates God’s redemption of His people from Egyptian slavery, particularly the salvation of all who put the blood of a sacrificial lamb on the doorpost so the angel of death would “pass over” them.
For Christians, every Sunday is a reminder that Jesus, our Passover Lamb, shed His blood for us on the cross, so that our sins would be “passed over”…washed away. We, too, were redeemed from the slavery of sin (represented by Egypt in Scripture). Hallelujah…the Lamb of God is enough!
