Hi friends! We’re concluding some thoughts on “good news,” also known in Christian vernacular as the gospel. It appropriately refers to salvation, but seems to reach so much deeper than that. Before we close out our thoughts today, please review the previous posts if you have missed them:
Indeed, the prophetic clock is ticking! As we experience the final ticking of the 2019 clock, it helps us put in perspective the ticking away of the final moments of the final last days. To be clear, I am not suggesting the end of 2019 is the final countdown of the last days. Simply, that as we watch the hours, minutes and seconds of 2019 roll into history, it provides a sense of what it is like to witness the final hours, minutes and seconds of the last days…however long the Lord may tarry!
We see world events lining up with Bible prophecy, and in Revelation 19:11-16 we find this:
11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. 12 His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. 13 He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses. 15 From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. 16 And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”
We live in a world swirling with sinfulness, trouble, heartache, violence and lawlessness. Yet, Jesus was given to us. He is Good News and He exists today! The Son that was given is soon to return! He will strike down the nations and rule with a rod of iron. Our King of Kings and Lord of Lords will come to rule, and once He strikes down unrighteousness, He will rule with justice and righteousness as the Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father and Prince of Peace!
The gospel is Good News! Good News (Jesus) came, and He’s coming again! It is good news that we celebrate at Christmastime, and it is good news that we look to the day when we are taken up (rapture) to meet Jesus in the clouds (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). It is good news that we will return to earth with Jesus one day to rule in the Millennium Kingdom!
Glory to God in the highest! Maranatha…Lord come quickly!
