Grumbling by a few certain members of Congress is becoming louder and louder when it comes to the US-Israeli relationship. As Christians, we know it is Biblically sound to stand with Israel.
And I will bless those who bless you [Israel],~Genesis 12:2
And the one who curses you I will curse.
I will gather all the nations~Joel 3:2
And bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat.
Then I will enter into judgment with them there
On behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel,
Whom they have scattered among the nations;
And they have divided up My land.
Thankfully, the US Congress overwhelmingly supports Israel and are highly favorable of the high dollar agreements we have with them. Why? Because America comes out ahead in the deal! Consider these facts:
- Every dollar in military aid that is allocated to Israel MUST be spent in the US. That boosts the US economy and provides jobs for Americans.
- The US greatly benefits from world-class Israeli research and development. For example, the cutting edge “heads up” flight helmets worn by American F-35 pilots were developed in Israel. Untold weapon systems and military gear utilized by the US military are the products of Israeli innovation.
- The US has unlimited access to everything Israel conceptualizes and contracts for production in the US.
- Unlike other US allies, Israel does not ask for or rely upon American soldiers, only military equipment purchased from America! They coordinate joint missions, but no US troops are stationed in Israel. It has been said, “We give them treasure, they preserve the lives of our soldiers, then we get our treasure back in military innovation.” Together, Israel and the US maintain military superiority in virtually any and every way imaginable.
So to answer the question, the US absolutely does not spend too much on Israel! In fact, the more appropriate question is, “Does America spend enough on Israel?” Many Americans “in the know” say no! Here is what General Chuck Wald, former Deputy Commander of US European Command, has to say:
So, next time you hear someone complain about military aid to Israel, set the record straight! Who wouldn’t want a sweet deal like that!
