In Israel, all people are fairly represented. Arab-Israelis hold positions as Supreme Court Justices, military leaders, and…yes…even Knesset (parliament) members.
Today, as Vice President Pence took the podium of the Knesset to deliver what turned out to be a very well-received speech by most Israeli legislators, Arab-Israeli members of the Knesset protested, causing a ruckus, resulting in their expulsion from the session.
Afterward, Pence continued by saying, “It is deeply humbling for me to stand before this vibrant democracy.” He then delivered a very powerful speech, laced with Biblical references to Israel and the Jewish people.

Pence’s trip concludes tomorrow with visits to Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial Hall and the Kotel (Western Wall).
