As Americans, there are certain things we look back to as we consider the birth of our nation: George Washington and famous Revolutionary War victories, Paul Revere’s ride, the framing of the Constitution and many others.

A couple days ago, Jews around the world commemorated a most significant event that led to the establishment of the Jewish homeland.

For the nation of Israel, their re-birth was prophesied in Ezekiel 36-37 (among other places), and the groundwork for that re-birth happened on November 29, 1947 when the UN officially adopted Resolution 181, authorizing a Jewish homeland.  The extraordinary story behind that UN vote is evidence of God’s faithfulness to His people.  I encourage you to watch November 29, 1947: The Story of a Vote.  (10 minutes)
