Yesterday marked the 68th birthday of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu!  Did you know he was the first Prime Minister born after the state of Israel was re-born?  Did you know he has been elected four times?

• Netanyahu was first elected Prime Minister in 1996.  Do you know who he beat in a very close election?
• He is the second longest-serving Prime Minister is Israel’s history.  Do you know who the longest-serving PM was?
• Netanyahu served in the Israeli special forces and achieved the rank of captain before being discharged.  Do you know what unit he was in?  (Israeli special forces, like the Navy Seals, Green Berets and Rangers, are very highly-trained and exceptionally-skilled military men.)
• He obtained a bachelor’s and a master’s degree simultaneously…in only 2.5 years.  Do you know where he was educated?
• Before becoming Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu served as the Israeli ambassador to the United Nations.  When was that?
