So, when is the last time you heard a President say that!?! Not to get hung up on who said it, but that it was said. Thank you, President Trump, for extending blessings to Israel.
And I will bless those who bless you [Israel],
And the one who curses you I will curse.
~Genesis 12:3
I have no problem with President Trump extending Blessings to Israel for their high Holy days. Unfortunately his lack of empathy for Muslims, North Koreans and expressed bile towards Iran and North Korea is hardly likely to make those people interpret his distorted views as thoughtful Christianity. Jesus told the story of the Good Samaritan to help us understand the humanity amongst our traditional enemies. Donald Trump wants to insult and threaten his enemies and is puzzled why his enemies react in anger.
Thanks for the comment, peddiebill. While I agree that President Trump often says things that incite others, to my knowledge he does not profess to be a Christian. Thus, why would we hold a non-believer to the standards we believe are Biblical. If he is a believer, he is fallen due to sin…just like the rest of us. Blessing Israel is not simply a “Christian” thing.
All who bless her will be blessed. As for our enemies, they must be dealt with firmly, so let’s pray for the Lord to fill President Trump with wisdom in how to deal with both our friends and our enemies. Have a blessed day!
