All Eyes on Jerusalem

While terror and chaos rage throughout the Middle East, all eyes are on Israel… particularly Jerusalem.  Some want to utterly destroy Israel, some love and cherish God’s chosen land, and some wonder what the big deal is.  One thing is for sure: the world’s eyes are on Jerusalem as never before.  That is a sign of the times, and is the subject of today’s discussion.

If you are just joining us, we’re in the midst of a mini-series I’m calling “Signs of the Times.”  If you have missed previous discussions, check them out here:

Scripture says Jerusalem is the center of the nations (Ezekiel 5:5) and the center of the earth (Ezekiel 38:10-12).  All eyes will naturally gaze there in end times, as God is fulfilling His promises!  The Middle East is seemingly ablaze these days, and ultimately, the focus is Jerusalem.  Here is a short list of those:

  • What does Hamas (in the Gaza Strip) want? To destroy Israel.
  • What does Iran want? To wipe Israel off the map.
  • What does Hezbollah want? To serve the ambitions of the Iranian regime.
  • What does ISIS want? To kill the infidels (including Jews) in order to rule the world.
  • What does Russia want? Israel’s oil and gas.

In the last days, more and more attention will be paid to Israel.  Today, the world is watching to see what happens in the Middle East.

This should come as absolutely no surprise.  Throughout history Israel has been attacked (Philistines, Amalekites, Crusaders, Muslims, Egyptians, etc).  Do we expect that to suddenly stop, or to increase?  If you said, “Increase,” I agree.  The Bible indicates Israel will become even more the target of evil as all  eyes turn there.

We know for certain that Russia, Iran and the rest of the coalition described in Ezekiel 38 have their eyes on Israel today, and we see that coalition taking shape right now, and right before our eyes.  No doubt, we’re seeing a sign of the times!

We’ll discuss one last sign tomorrow: the disappearance of America from the world stage.  See you tomorrow!
