Emmanuel Macron, the youngest French ruler since Napoleon, is very quickly positioning himself as the so-called savior of Europe. Just two days ago Reuters published the latest Macron power play, reporting that he “threatens to ram through parliament reform.”
Coming from seemingly nowhere, but bred in the stable of the world’s rich and elite, Macron “preaches” one world order, and seems dead set on climbing to power in Europe. In a joint session of French parliament, Macron announced plans to cut the number of legislators by one-third (giving him more power), among other things. If parliament fails to pass his proposed reforms, he will push the issues to voter referendum. (If Daddy says “no,” go ask Mommy!) He just won a sweeping presidential victory and his approval ratings are high, making victory in a referendum very likely.
He is pressing for widespread reforms all across Europe, not just in France. This is a power hungry leader, with growing popularity…a bad combination! Again, according to Reuters:
Macron himself has said he plans a “Jupiterian” presidency – as a remote, dignified figure, like the Roman god of gods, who weighs his rare pronouncements carefully.
Warning: let’s not make more of this than what is. Some are quick to label Macron the antichrist, though I believe it is too early to identify the antichrist. 2 Thessalonians 2:7-8 clearly tells us that the man of lawlessness (antichrist) will be revealed when the One (Holy Spirit) restraining him is removed. The Holy Spirit lives within us as believers, so the Restrainer (Holy Spirit) will be removed when we are raptured! Therefore, it seems logical that the antichrist will not be revealed until we (believers/followers of Jesus Christ) are raptured.
However, 1 John 4:1-3 teaches that the spirit of antichrist is already at work in our world. You have seen it…the evil that pervades our world. Hitler, Mussolini, ISIS, etc. The list could go on and on. So, we do see the spirit of antichrist, but THE antichrist is yet to be revealed.
Make no mistake, Europe seems ripe for the antichrist, and Macron is showing colors of that spirit. Consider his “jupitarian” label. That refers to someone who alleges to see things clearly (“I know it all”) and operates from a position of power. There is also the reference of Macron as a “Roman god-of-gods?” Then, consider the location of Macron’s address to the joint session of parliament: Versailles…not the French parliament building. Versailles was the palace of French monarch, Louis XIV (Louis the Great)…or the “Sun King.” A place of power.
Finally, take note of this leader’s first name: Emmanuel (alternate spelling of “Immanuel”)
“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us).
All just coincidence, or spirit of antichrist? It is a stretch to label this man the antichrist, but it appears to be accurate to say there are overtones of one world order and the spirit of antichrist. But, here is the good news: those whose trust is in Jesus Christ need not fear!
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already. Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
~1 John 4:1-4
Discern wisely, my friends!
