A Mother’s Day Tribute to Sarah

By faith Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful who had promised.
~Hebrews 11:11

Today is Mother’s Day in America.  Every mother deserves honor and thanks for bringing us into this world, and for loving us through it!  If you haven’t blessed your mother today, I hope you will do so!

Our purpose here, though, is to pay tribute to a very special mother: Sarah.  We readily recognize Abraham’s importance in the birth of our Jewish roots and, ultimately, Christian faith.  However, Abraham could not do it alone!  In order for the son of promise (Isaac) to carry forth the promises of God, Sarah had to conceive and give birth at an age beyond child-bearing.  Of course we know that God miraculously made that happen and Sarah birthed the son of promise at the age of 90!

Susan Michael, Director of the US branch of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem, has penned an excellent article on Sarah and her significance in the fulfillment of God’s purpose.  I encourage you to read it!

The Mother of Us All

Tomorrow there is a special opportunity for you to bless Israel.  Don’t miss the chance!  See you then!
