While US-Israeli Relations Head South, US-Iranian Relations Grow Stronger

My heart is heavy tonight as I examine the road our nation is traveling.  In recent weeks, we’ve seen acceleration in the moral decline of our nation, and now we are seeing the White House emphatically turn its back on Israel to side with her greatest enemy.  While US officials lambast Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with vulgar name-calling, the Obama administration continues to cozy up to Iran.  In fact, the Wall Street Journal describes a state of détente between the United States and Iran.

Indeed, the US has engaged in direct negotiations with Iran, enabling them to continue operating their nuclear facilities, despite Iran’s refusal to allow the International Atomic Energy Agency to conduct agreed-upon inspections.  In addition, the Obama administration has also waffled in its stance against Iranian proxies such as Hamas and Hezbollah.  They have also sided with the Palestinians by pressuring Israel to negotiate with terrorists, give up land, and divide Jerusalem.  Furthermore, Secretary of State John Kerry turned to Turkey and Qatar, backers of Hamas, for peace plans during negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.

Despite all the geopolitical turmoil, I’m convinced that these issues will not be solved politically.  Regardless of who is in power, political initiatives will not work.

“Why?” you ask.  Because the battle lines are spiritual, not political.  What seems to escape the notice of world leaders, as well as common citizens, is that the drive of Islamic radicals (the Iranian regime, Hamas, Hezbollah, and others) is NOT more land, a peace deal, or sovereignty as a state.  It is the desire to rule the world through an Islamic caliphate.  Whether anyone wants to acknowledge it or not, this is a religious war!  Only calling upon the One True God do we have hope for peace in our world.  He is the only solution to the issues we face.

Where do you put your hope?  In politicians?  In chance?  In fallible man?  Put your hope in Jesus Christ, the Blessed Hope.  He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), and He loves you supremely.

Shalom, friends!
