Once again, Hamas has shown absolutely no regard for its citizens, instead choosing to continue firing rockets into Israel.  The latest violation occurred Sunday after Israel had agreed to hold fire until midnight Sunday.  

“Yet again Hamas is cynically exploiting the residents of Gaza in order to use them as human shields. Hamas first rejected the Egyptian cease-fire initiative and afterwards violated last week’s UN humanitarian truce. It later violated the Red Cross humanitarian truce and has rebuffed the UN request for a humanitarian truce in order to allow the residents of Gaza to prepare for Eid al-Fitr,” a government statement said.

Israel remains resolute to destroy terrorist tunnels that give Hamas access into Israel to kidnap, torture, terrorize, and kill Israeli citizens.  The IDF continues to focus on that task.  (For a 20-second clip of Israel’s destruction of one of those tunnels, click here and scroll down a few paragraphs into the article.)

With Iran, Syria, North Korea, and perhaps other rogue regimes backing Hamas, it is difficult to see how this conflict will result in anything other than continued problems in the Middle East.  As believers, we should not be surprised.  The Prince of Peace is the only true source of peace, and until nations and regimes bow to and confess the name of Jesus Christ, there will be turmoil.  

However, don’t believe for a moment that God has left the region without a remnant of believers!  Indeed, there are believers all over the Middle East.  (Likely more than we think!)  Indeed, the Lord has done a supernatural work throughout history that continues today.  Everyone, including those in the Middle East, are in search of the one true God!  Let’s pray they discover Him!  (Click on that link if you are ready for your heart and mind to be challenged!)
