Hamas has fired over 200 rockets into Israel in 2014, at least 16 fired from Gaza into Israel Sunday night and Monday morning.  Most rockets have exploded in open areas, while Israel’s Iron Dome defense system has intercepted those headed for populated areas.

Intelligence gathering continues, but Israeli leaders believe Hamas is retaliating for the killing of terrorist Mohammed Zaid Abid as he was attempting to launch a rocket out of Gaza into Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netayahu has issued this warning: 

We are witnesses to increased fire from the Gaza Strip in recent days.  We hit a Hamas cell yesterday, which was planning to fire rockets at us.  If the quiet achieved following Operation Pillar of Defense is disrupted, there are two options: Either Hamas stops it, as it is responsible for the territory, or we will stop it.  We cannot allow the continuation of rocket fire.

No other country on planet earth would sit back while their people are attacked.  Israel seems ready to put an end to the terrorist acts.
