A Shout Out to New Followers

A bit of insider news today…

Over the past few weeks there has been a distinct rise in followers, so I did a little research and found increased numbers from Hong Kong, Singapore, China, and India. Welcome! I pray you are blessed as we view the world through a Biblical lens and lean into God’s plan for Israel and the nations. You are welcome here!

There are multiple objectives that guide us in what appears on this website, Looking for the Blessed Hope:

  • To better understand the Jewish roots of our Christian faith
  • To better understand our role as believers when it comes to God’s admonition to bless Israel
  • To better understand the prophetic significance of Israel and the world we live in today
  • To better understand how to recognize deception in today’s world

It is important for every believer and follower of Jesus to understand that Jesus came to the Jew first (Romans 1:16) but opened up a way of salvation to Gentiles (Romans 11:11). Passages such as Romans 11 teach us that we Gentiles are “grafted in” to the olive tree, the heritage and inheritance of the Jewish people. We don’t become Jewish, but we partake of the blessing of salvation because, through the Jewish Messiah (Jesus), God made a way for us.

Along with that, God’s Word teaches us to bless Israel (Genesis 12:3), pray for Israel (Psalm 122:6-9, Isaiah 62), be watchman for (stand with) Israel (Ezekiel 33), and comfort Israel (Isaiah 40:1). It is critically important for believers and nations to treat Israel with blessing or face judgment (Joel 3:2). We do well as Christians to heed those admonitions.

Regarding Bible prophecy, Israel is at the center of it, and it makes up about 30% of Scripture. To neglect 30% of Scripture leaves us ill-prepared to face what’s coming. As believers in Jesus, there is no need to fear. Because of Bible prophecy, we know how the story ends and who wins! Those of us who commit ourselves to Jesus will ultimately be with Him in heaven. We win!

Finally, deception is a major theme in the last days, and God’s Word tells us how to avoid it. Passages such as 2 Thessalonians 2 clearly warn us of the deception that will come (and is already present in our world) and instructs us to stand firm on the truth of Scripture.

Those are the guiding pillars of Looking for the Blessed Hope, and we also dedicate Sundays to prayer, devotionals, and worship. I pray you are blessed as you follow along.

PS: Tomorrow we’ll take a look at what’s getting the most attention. See you then!
