We talk about Bible prophecy all the time, particularly the seemingly at-our-doorstep prophecies of Isaiah 17:1 (fall of Damascus) and Ezekiel 38 (War of Gog and Magog). But did you know Israel is living out Bible prophecy every single day, right before our eyes?
It’s true! Since Israel’s rebirth in 1948, Bible prophecy has played out daily. Let’s take a look at how that has happened:
Dear friends, the prophets of past millennia clearly reported events that we see happening in the world today. Isn’t that incredible! Because of that, we can know the Bible is credible, relevant and 100% accurate.
In 2019 (and beyond!), I pray you will stand firm on God’s Word. Prophecy validates it and you can trust it!
PS: If you haven’t heard, the Proximity: Awaiting His Return Conference is happening today in Southern California. (Featuring Amir Tsarfati, Pastor Jack Hibbs, Pastor Barry Stagner and Jan Markell) See yesterday’s post for more info.
Greetings friends! For those of you who live in Southern California, you won’t want to miss the Proximity: Awaiting His ReturnConference, featuring Amir Tsarfati, Pastor Jack Hibbs, Pastor Barry Stagner and Jan Markell at Calvary Chapel Tustin tomorrow (Saturday, January 5, 2019) The conference begins at 8:30 and is scheduled to conclude at 4:30 (Pacific time). You will find information about the Proximity Conference here.
As the name implies, the conference will focus on Bible prophecy relative to the return of Christ, and will have emphasis on current events that point to His return. All speakers are highly-respected for their commitment to the veracity of God’s Word and I encourage those of you in Southern California to attend if you can.
I am not sure whether or not the conference will be live-streamed, though the host church does have a live-stream site here. Check that link on Saturday morning for possible live-stream of all teachings, or catch them later on their Message Archive page. Meanwhile, Amir’s teaching, The Great Separation (at 1:15 PST), will be live-streamed on Behold Israel’s Facebook page.
Hi friends! Do you realize that right this moment Jesus is preparing our eternal home? That’s right! That is Jesus’ promise to His followers. We will enjoy an eternal home with our Heavenly Father, and Jesus has gone to prepare that place! And since He has gone to prepare that place, He will return to take us there! (John 14:3) That is prophetic…and the Bible is full of prophecy we need to be aware of!
But let’s lay some groundwork:
The Bible is the inerrant Word of God and we can trust it.
The best interpretation of Scripture is a straight-forward interpretation, understood as the writer intended. (ie – history as history, poetry as poetry, prophecy as prophecy, etc)
The Bible teaches the pre-tribulational rapture of the church.
How do we know we can trust the Bible and its prophecies? Several reasons, but perhaps the most obvious is that over 500 prophecies have been perfectly fulfilled without a single error. What are the odds of that? Incalculable! To illustrate, how does a person predict where they will be born, who they will be born to, when they will be born, when they will die, and exactly how they will die…..all beforehand? Only Jesus could do that…and that is only a small handful of prophecies already fulfilled. There are about 500 recorded prophecies that have been perfectly fulfilled. There are about 500 more yet to be fulfilled. If God can get the first 500 right, without a mistake, then I’m trusting Him for the remaining 500!
As we close today, be assured there are dozens of reasons to study prophecy. But I want to share one that is most intriguing to me. Please read Revelation 1:3. What reason do you find there? I want to experience the Lord’s blessings. How about you?
Thanks for joining us on the journey. Come back for more!
So, let’s get started! I hope you will follow along as I lead a Bible study group through Looking for the Blessed Hope. Below is the description of the study, and I will do my best to provide nuggets from our study each week! The study actually starts live on Thursday night and I look forward to sharing the study virtually with all of you!
…looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus.
Arab Spring…nuclear ambitions…pre-emptive strikes…severe catastrophes around the globe…economic collapses…rampant increase in ungodliness…one world order. Today’s headlines are clear indication that Bible prophecy is being fulfilled right before our very eyes! No one knows the day or the hour, but we are exhorted to understand the times in which we live. How well do we understand these times?
What in the world is going on in the Middle East? Are these events good or bad? Will Iran fulfill their nuclear ambitions? Will Israel launch a pre-emptive strike? What about Israeli-Palestinian peace talks? Why all the fuss about Israel? Should we be concerned about Islam? What lies ahead, and should we fear? To get it right, we must keep our eyes on Israel…God’s chosen land and God’s chosen people…and peer through the lens of Scripture.
Looking for the Blessed Hope will put our focus squarely on Israel and, when viewed through Scriptural glasses, will lead us to discover answers for ourselves. Most importantly we will be challenged (perhaps in a few surprising ways) to trust God and His Word as we face the future.
