A Return to War in the Middle East?

As we close the weekend, we face future weeks of uncertainty in the human realm. But cling to this truth, my friends: God is in control and those who put their faith and trust in Him may rest in His peace and live without fear.

I offer that encouragement in light of what is taking place in the Middle East today.

  • Following continual rocket attacks from Hezbollah on northern Israeli cities, Israel carried out an attack on Hezbollah leaders in Beirut.
  • President Trump, who recently called Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “_______ crazy” for continuing to attack a terrorist organization that relentlessly attacks them, is not happy about Israel’s response to Hezbollah. Talks are ongoing, but reportedly very tense.
  • In the past few weeks of negotiations, Trump’s temper has manifest itself more frequently and in more severe ways, not only in conversation with Netanyahu, but also in a walk-off interview on “Meet the Press.” He seems to grow increasingly irritable each time Iran disregards his call for a peace deal. Seems Iran has him right where they want him.
  • Emboldened, Iran attacked Israel with a barrage of rockets earlier today.
  • Israel has vowed a response.
  • Reportedly, President Trump has urged Netanyahu not to respond and announced the US will not reengage in the war.

Tomorrow, we’ll focus more on President Trump’s mysterious decisions regarding Iran. But, beyond that, there is a lingering sense of societal “unraveling.” Radical Islamists are rising up around the world with intent to enforce their radical ideas. Wide open borders have left Europe and America critically vulnerable to those with evil intentions. Here in America the divide between political parties and opposing views is not only widening but is becoming dangerously adversarial. Elections continue to be mishandled, and trust is lost in our systems and leaders. The rhetoric of political leaders is so caustic that violence has become the norm when there is disagreement. Sadly, the media piles on propaganda meant to tear down agendas that don’t align with their woke perspective.

It is never ending.

In the midst of that “unraveling,” and all we see transpiring in the Middle East, there is much that remains unsaid. Perhaps it’s time to say what needs to be said. We’ll do that in the next few days.

So, let’s lay a foundation before we get into some controversial topics. The purpose is not to offend, but to put into light what has been kept silent and put it out there for discussion. Ultimately, though, our foundation as believers is faith in God alone! We must anchor there, rather than on the chaos. In the midst of the chaos and madness, remember:

Remember the former things of old,
For I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is none like Me,
10 Declaring the end from the beginning,
And from ancient times things that are not yet done,
Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand,
And I will do all My pleasure.”
~Isaiah 46:10

10 Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!
~Psalm 46:10

Keep those truths in mind and join us beginning tomorrow as we say the unsaid things!
