Throughout history, God has placed specially called people in specifically determined places at God-determined times for God-ordained purposes! Abraham, Moses, David, the apostle Paul, George Washington, Billy Graham…Mike Johnson!

For those who don’t know, Mike Johnson is Speaker of the House in the US Congress. His is a very powerful position, and Mike Johnson has a very powerful God! He is a man of faith and deep conviction who believes that God’s Word has the answers for every dilemma we face. He doesn’t just talk the talk, he walks the walk, even in mentoring his colleagues in the House of Representatives.

But more impressive than that, this specially called man in a specifically determined place at God’s determined time is fulfilling his God-ordained purpose in greater ways than we will ever know. He has the President’s ear and makes use of the opportunities God gives him to speak light and life into what could easily be a dark place. In fact, the US Congress would be in absolute darkness without men like Mike Johnson.

On Tuesday, we touched on negotiations with Iran. Foreign policy is not a key focus for an American Speaker of the House, thus I doubt he speaks into that issue very often. However, he has a special relationship with President Trump who is deeply embroiled in negotiations with Iran. I have no doubt that Mike Johnson provides Godly counsel to the President (as evidenced in that video!)

As we approach America’s 250th birthday, let’s commit to pray for leaders such as Mike Johnson to spread the truth of God’s Word everywhere they can in our nation’s capital. If, as Mike Johnson says, there are many believers on Capitol Hill, let’s pray for a breakthrough like the one we mentioned yesterday! If God can provide breakthroughs that build bridges between Jews and Arabs in Israel, what mighty things can He do here in America as well!
