Lies and deception…they are everywhere!
Welcome back friends! We have turned our focus to the word “TRUTH” this week. The Bible teaches that Jesus is the way, the TRUTH, and the life (John 14:6), and that Satan is a liar (John 8:44). Who are you going to trust? We laid that foundation on Monday (please read it to understand the heart behind this series), then provided an example of how lies are propagated through false teaching.
Today, we’ll view another example of just how blatant the attack on truth is in America. Many politicians thrive on lies, and no place seems worse than California. The initiatives they push are rarely in the best interests of their citizens, and they have significant impact on the entire nation if and when we follow California’s lead.
It seems religion is being weaponized for the purpose of winning elections. In America, there is constant talk of “separation of church and state,” which appears NOWHERE in any official founding documents in our country. The phrase was used in a letter from Thomas Jefferson to the Danberry Baptist Association, with the intent that government would not be allowed to interfere is church affairs! A huge reason the pilgrims fled Europe was to disconnect from state-run churches that dictated what was taught. Thus, the intent was to avoid such dictator-like behavior in the New World.
Yet, here we are 250 years later fighting for churches to have the autonomy our founding fathers decreed. The TRUTH is that America was founded on Biblical principles. Almost every single signer of the Declaration of Independence was a born-again believer in Jesus the Messiah, and prayer and holy guidance guarded their way as they built America’s foundation. Now, we have leaders telling us (in essence) that we have no such founding, that God doesn’t really matter, and we should abandon our long-held beliefs to embrace evil. Somehow, that is supposed to be “best” for America? Calling evil good and good evil.

Particularly those of you in California, please contact your state representatives and express your disfavor of this bill. Pray the bill will die in committees, or at least in the general assembly. If it should appear as a ballot measure, fight tooth and nail to defeat it! Make your voice heard!
For the rest of us, please pray for the people of California to have discernment, wisdom and the fortitude to stand up against this horrific attack on our faith. Islam is a big lie and those who propagate the false narrative are followers of the Great Liar, Satan himself. Our prayers matter! Will you pray right now before going off to “do the next thing?”
