Fifteen months ago today, Israel was attacked in the most brutal way imaginable. Savage beasts broke through the border from Gaza into Israel and perpetrated the most heinous acts human minds can fathom. So vulgar were many of those acts that they simply have not been articulated in the news or in personal reports from Israel.
Enduring those attacks is undoubtedly beyond what our minds are able to comprehend. Yet, there is potentially one thing worse than being victimized on that day by those evil acts: being victimized, then held captive by those same monsters for the past 458 days.
Testimony of released hostages confirms that the very acts of extremely grotesque physical and sexual torture are being perpetuated day-in and day-out in Gaza by those who have no conscience and no value of life. The 100 hostages being held are suffering in unimaginable ways every day.
During our upcoming Israel Solidarity Trip, we will have unique opportunities to engage with those directly impacted by the events of October 7. Lord willing, visits to the Nova site and one or more of the kibbutzim that were attacked will bring a sobering sense of understanding not otherwise possible. We will also experience the reality of what life is like in those areas as families continue to grieve.
We will also be reminded of those remaining in captivity. Please join us in prayer, pleading God’s deliverance of the hostages. Meanwhile, here is a subtle reminder of the loved ones still being held:
Due to late cancellations, we now have 2-3 slots available on the upcoming trip (February 14-26). This trip is a low-cost, volunteer opportunity (not a regular Israel tour).
