Since announcing our upcoming solidarity trip to Israel in February 2025, many ask, “Why are you going to Israel?” I answered that question previously but want to provide some additional context regarding Christian support of Israel.
First and foremost, the Bible is clear: Those who bless Israel will be blessed and those who curse Israel will be cursed. (Genesis 12:3) For those of us who proclaim Jesus as Lord, blessing Israel is not a suggestion, but a command. While there are many ways to bless Israel, one tangible way of doing so is to go there and be the hands and feet of Jesus.
Now, let’s broaden the context. When Christians display the character of Jesus, it makes a tremendous impact on God’s uniquely called people, the Jews. One example of the character of Jesus on display is the purchase of ambulances in Israel. Though taxes pay the salaries of Israeli fire and police personnel, ambulances are provided solely by the generosity of those from around the world who stand with Israel!
Recently, supporters of One for Israel provided 3 new ambulances, each with Psalm 14:7 boldly emblazoned on the doors of each vehicle:
Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion!
Equally impacting is the fact that those donations did not come from Jews or Israelis, but from Christians! One for Israel president Erez Soref, during a presentation of the vehicles, said:
“They’re not Jewish, they’re not Israeli. It stands out especially in a year when hatred towards the Jewish people and the state of Israel has been so rampant around the world, in all parts of the world. Our donors are men and women who for many years have been praying for the nation of Israel, but especially through this last year. Through prayer for all of us, God has moved their hearts to give and donate to the betterment of the nation of Israel.
During our February 2025 solidarity trip to Israel, we won’t be giving millions of shekels to purchase ambulances, but we will be sharing the same character of Jesus as we minister to the needs of our Israeli friends who have lived through so much.
Plans are firming up and our solidarity trip will happen during the last two weeks of February 2025. It will be a unique experience and one that will undoubtedly change our lives as we serve those in need. If you are interested in joining us, we still have a few spots available. Let us know of your interest by emailing Looking4theBlessedHope@gmail.com.
I will always stand with Israel in connection with my uncompromising faith in the Lord.
