We’ve reached that magical time that comes along every 4 years: the convergence of the Olympic Games and conventions of major US political parties introducing their nominees to America. Sadly, both are a bit less magical than they once were, but the hype is certainly heightened.
Perhaps we will touch on those major events as the days go by, but today’s focus is on an important visit paid by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife, Sara, to Mar-A-Lago, Trump’s lavish Florida estate. Why is it important? Because these two powerful world leaders must be on the same page if the US and Israel have any chance of leading the world back to some semblance of order.
After a falling out when Netanyahu was quick to congratulate Biden on his victory in 2020, the Netanyahu’s were warmly greeted by Donald Trump and early reports are that the meeting went very well. Only a day earlier, Netanyahu met separately with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, each with a stern message to Netanyahu, urging a peace deal with Hamas that would leave terrorists in control and the hostage status up in the air.
Trump called Harris’ remarks regarding Israel “disrespectful,” and warned American Jews against voting for Harris and her antisemitic policies.
Meanwhile, Trump has consistently encouraged Israel to prosecute the war in Gaza quickly and decisively. Together, the US and Israel must quickly lead the charge to turn the tables on the axis of evil, led by Iran.
While our hope is NEVER in countries or world leaders, it is important to consider the importance of voting wisely. Should God decide to allow evil rulers to reign, opportunities to make monumental changes in our world will fade away. We must put our trust in the God of heaven, ask His favor on our leaders, then vote according to our Biblical values.
Meanwhile, pray for the Netanyahu’s and Trump’s, as the opposition they face is often fiercely demonic. May the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob once again pour out mercy and grace upon those who seek to honor Him.
