Is the Sinking Gaza Pier Symbolic of American Support for Israel?

Amid international cries for more aid into Gaza, Joe Biden used his State of the Union address in March to announce a floating pier would be built by the US military to deliver aid to Gaza. Indeed, construction began in April and the pier was open for business in May.

However, American service members were injured on that pier last week, and on Saturday (May 25) the floating pier was washed away by high seas. To add insult to injury, an American naval vessel ran aground trying to retrieve the runaway pier.

Ironically, in a BBC video describing how the pier would be built and operated, the narrator ended the short piece with these words:

Is the floating pier a realistic alternative or another disaster waiting to happen?

Yesterday, amidst what sounds like chuckling onlookers, it seems that question was answered. The pier appears to be disastrously sinking:

Unfortunately, the irony is difficult to dismiss. America’s part in the Israel-Hamas situation is sinking to new lows as the Biden administration continues to stumble all over itself in attempts to legitimize Hamas. His foreign policy is a disaster!

Here are some facts:

  • There is plenty of food in Gaza without the $300 million pier and $16 million/ton of airdropped food. (Note to fellow American taxpayers: WE are footing that bill!)
  • Twice as many humanitarian aid trucks are entering Gaza now than before October 7.
  • It is a well-documented fact that Hamas highjacks trucks and steals food and supplies meant for the citizens of Gaza.
  • Israel most definitely has the firepower, capabilities and supplies to end this conflict in hours, yet are bowing to international pressure (including the US) to not only protect Palestinian lives being used as human shields, but also to provide for them.
  • The true war is in the media. Do not believe what you hear from the media who parrots the Hamas leadership’s narrative. The IDF is not preventing food and supplies from entering (they are actually providing it!), nor are they attacking refugee camps filled with innocent people.

War is horrific, and one innocent life lost is a tragedy. However, be reminded that zero “innocent civilians” would be dying in this war if Hamas had not attack truly innocent civilians on October 7. Furthermore, keep in mind that 80% of Palestinians SUPPORT Hamas and celebrated in the streets of Gaza as captured Israeli citizens were paraded around like trophies following their kidnapping.

Of course, not every Palestinian is evil, and there are innocent civilians in Gaza. They are likely the ones who quickly and obediently heed IDF warnings of impending military action and flee to safe zones. (Where the incoming aid should be distributed if it wasn’t stolen by Hamas!) Yet, those labeled as “innocent civilians” by Hamas are either in harm’s way because they choose to stand and fight the IDF, or they are being held as human shields by Hamas.

Don’t be fooled by evil narratives that sweep around the world, turning the perspective toward “Palestinian hardships.” Blood is on the hands of Hamas for what is happening to “innocents” in Gaza. This could all end in hours if Sinwar would release hostages and dismantle Hamas.

Of course, that isn’t going to happen, so the IDF must continue until Hamas is destroyed, the hostages are released (dead or alive) and Hamas is no longer able to pose a threat to Israel. Anything short of that will be a victory for evil.

Unfortunately, American foreign policy is sinking as quickly as that US pier off the coast of Gaza. Hold tight to God’s Word, my friends. God’s hand of blessing over America is directly related to His command to bless Israel, and it appears this administration is severely failing the Israel test.
