Egypt’s Role in Pinning Israel’s Back to the Wall

Welcome back friends. As noted yesterday, there is a nefarious plot to pin Israel’s back to the wall. The plot includes potential arrest warrants from the International Criminal Court (ICC) for Israeli political and military officials, including Bejamin Netanyahu and his war cabinet.

If this surprises you, may I remind you of Bible prophecy that tells us Israel will stand alone in the midst of a future invasion from the north described in Ezekiel 38-39, and that stage is being set. We have written much about that invasion, known also as the War of Gog and Magog. We know who the main players are (Russia, Iran and Turkey), as well as other people groups and terror proxies (such as Hamas, Hezbollah and many others). (Search “Gog and Magog” in the search field on the right side bar to find out more about that invasion.)

The current scheme certainly works to isolate Israel, and Egypt plays a role. Currently, Israel and Egypt have a peace treaty, so the Egyptian plans must be a bit more measured than most of their Middle Eastern counterparts. But they manage.

Egypt has been a major player in peace negotiations between Israel and Hamas, but so far, no hostages-for-peace deal has been agreed upon. Egypt (along with other Arab countries) leans favorably toward Hamas, as they feign “standing up” for their Arab brethren (Palestinians). The reality is that Egypt, under no circumstances, will allow Gazans/Palestinians into their country as refugees because they know what Gaza is about! (Terrorism)

Thus, Egypt capitulates to demands for peace, while failing to press Hamas into releasing all hostages in return. Israel, meanwhile, threatens to invade Rafah, where the final remnants of Hamas leadership and military organization are holed up. However, Rafah sits on the border between Gaza and Egypt. For years, tunnels running between the two have served as conduit to supply Hamas with weaponry from Iran and elsewhere. Egypt certainly doesn’t want the evidence of that to come out!

To complicate matters, Egypt has the support of the US, who has committed to “tame Israel” so that no Palestinian refugees cross the border into Egypt. That, of course, forces Israel to accept the burden of containing a hostile population, whose goal is the destruction of Israel, within their own geographical boundaries.

Ironically, Egyptian President al-Sisi owes his position of power largely to the Israelis. When al-Sisi led a coup to take over Egypt from rule of the Muslim Brotherhood, it was Israel who negotiated with the Obama administration, a supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood! Israel was successful in persuading Obama to allow the coup, and al-Sisi came to power as a result!

Yet now, Egypt and America push together for a peace deal that will likely not include release of all Israeli hostages, and will most certainly not result in peaceful coexistence between Israel and Hamas! It would simply give Hamas a win and cause Israel to look weak on the world stage. (NOT a good look in the Middle East!) Indeed, Egypt and the US are working hand-in-hand to pin Israel’s back to the wall.

But, as we stated yesterday, the God of Israel is in control and will remain so! Of course, we must pray for Israel, speak out for Israel, and do all we can to support Israel. God’s Word commands that. But be reminded of the fact that God will determine the outcome…and in the end, Israel will stand!

Egypt is only one cog in the wheel of evil cycling through the Middle East. We will continue revealing pieces of the demonic scheme, so plan to join us here again tomorrow. See you then!
