Here we are, dear friends, at the pinnacle of our journey together. Gazing at Golgotha, the place of Jesus’ crucifixion, brings emotions of all kinds. It is there our tour guests get a sense of just how “real” that fateful day was. Indeed, after being stripped, whipped and made to carry His cross, Jesus sacrificed Himself for the sins of the world. Justice was served…sins’ debt was paid. Stop to let that sink in.
But, as important as justice is, grace is even greater. A short distance from Golgotha is the empty tomb, the place where Satan believed the battle was won, but also the place in which Jesus our Lord defeated death and Satan! He rose from that grave to give us life everlasting! After justice comes grace and it has never been more evident than on that resurrection day!
It is literally impossible to describe what it is like to step inside that empty tomb. I pray our journey today draws you closer into that experience than ever before. For the full effect, though, I invite you to join us on our next tour to Israel. Lord willing, we will go there again soon!
Meanwhile, soak it all in…
PS: Our farewell is coming up, so stick with us!
Our group had a very anointed time there at the Garden Tomb. That includes our worship session with Holy Communion within that area. I would love to return there someday.
