Since October 7’s horrific attack and massacre on Israel, Christians around the world have gathered for prayer meetings and continue to support Israel in prayer. However, first responders are sometimes overlooked. The part they played was crucial and the mental and emotional impact of seeing what they have seen will scar many for a lifetime.
I urge you to lift up prayers for those who responded to the tragedy itself, to the cleanup afterward, and the forensic teams that continue trying to identify body parts of those brutally mutilated, burned, raped and murdered on that brutal day. So many have suffered so much.
“When we tried picking up the bones, the bones turned to ash. You’re talking about bodies and bodies and bodies — on the highways, in homes and out in the fields. …There are no words.”
~Simcha Greiniman, a 32-year veteran of ZAKA, a voluntary community emergency response organization
