Yesterday, our closing thought was whether or not the American administration will grow a spine and become the adult in the room. Unfortunately, it is highly doubtful (in fact, almost 100% certain) that as long as an administration sold out to all the wrong foreign and domestic policies, and hell bent on pressuring Israel to bow to the whims of Hamas, America will be void of any significant leadership in the world. No adults in the room here!
What does it take to be “the adult in the room?” Well, pardon me as I take another trip down memory lane. In our house, we respected our parents, and every other adult for that matter. Why? Because if we didn’t, the adults would see to it that we learned a lesson from our rebellion!
We responded correctly and politely if we were spoken to, and if we sat in Dad’s easy chair, we hopped up immediately when he entered the room! Why? Because the adult was in the room, and he got to decide what behavior was appropriate. Sitting in the known favorite seat of an adult was akin to climbing upon the king’s throne and refusing to yield when he walked into the room!
Adults acting as adults, also meet difficulties head-on and with solutions. They seek out what’s right and they implement it. Hillel Fuld shared some thoughts copied below. Some will think they are over-simplified or that they can’t be done. Tell me, why not!?! Are we afraid of thoughts and ideas that require careful planning, execution and loyalty to the plan?
Is every bullet point below 100% correct? You be the judge. However, in the midst of it all, I am confident there is some logic and validity here. If only the adults in the room would rise up and apply a bit of logic!
Let’s be problem solvers. Everyone likes a good problem solver.
Problem # 1: There are too many innocent deaths in Gaza?
Solution: Hamas surrenders, returns the hostages, and just like that, no more deaths.
Problem # 2: There’s a humanitarian crisis in Gaza?
Solution: Hamas surrenders, returns the hostages, and just like that, no more crisis.
Problem # 3: Gaza is being destroyed?
Solution: Hamas surrenders, returns the hostages, and just like that, no more destruction
Problem # 4: We need a ceasefire now!
Solution: Hamas surrenders, returns the hostages, and just like that, a ceasefire.
Picking up on a pattern? That’s right. Every single death is on Hamas and as soon as they surrender and return our hostages, that day, magically, that will be the end of the war.
So instead of coming to Israel with complaints and problems, go to Hamas with the solution.

May the adults in the room choose wisely. Ultimately, our Heavenly Father will stand up and say, “Enough is enough.” Let’s not force His hand!
