In Israel, there is no shortage of heroes, and their stories are coming to light.
Bedouins are a group you don’t hear much about. Yet, if you have been to Israel, you have surely seen their encampments. They are Muslims who choose to live a nomadic lifestyle as their forefather, Abraham, did. Found in other Middle East countries, as well as Israel, they are clearly seen in the barren desert around Jericho and from the road leading to Jerusalem.

Encampments are well-organized in some countries, but often appear chaotic and “third world” in Israel. Yet, for the most part, these nomads are hospitable, often hosting tourists for Bedouin experiences, complete with camel rides, goat’s milk, and unique dining experiences inside their tents. For the most part, they are peaceful people, often sheep herders, and they survive together in a rather tribal environment.
Bedouin men are also known as good soldiers, faithful to Israel and unafraid to take on difficult assignments. Lt Col M is one of them! A commander of Muslim Bedouins in the IDF’s Gaza Division headquarters, he became a hero as he commanded his unit which saved many people and his military installation on October 7.
Watch and hear the account of the brave Bedouin soldiers who battled to save fellow Israelis’ lives:
As you pray for Israel, pray for the Bedouin community. Thank God for their faithfulness to serve and to defend Israel, and ask the Lord to make Himself known to them.
