Just How Committed is the US to Israel?

As American believers, we have reason to be concerned. Genesis 12:3 warns that those who bless Israel will be blessed and those who curse Israel will be cursed. While it has not always been perfect, America has firmly stood with Israel since her rebirth in 1948. US President Harry Truman was the first to acknowledge the newborn state of Israel and America had Israel’s back until the fledgling IDF rose to become one of the world’s best militaries.

Today, there is cause for concern. Though Israel has been one of America’s closest allies, the Biden administration has flat-out refused to host Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House. Since Netanyahu’s re-election in 2022, Biden has scorned the Israeli PM and bad-mouthed the “most extreme” Israeli government in modern history. Biden denouncing Netanyahu’s cabinet as extreme is a bit like the pot calling the kettle black, don’t you think?

Not only that, in a recent development, the Biden administration reimposed a ban on US taxpayer funding for research conducted in the “disputed” territories of Judea. Yes, friends, it is totally okay to fund gain-of-function research in China (that unleashed the coronavirus), but don’t even think about funding legitimate Israeli research that happens to take place in an area Palestinians wish was theirs.

If that’s not enough, Biden’s Iranian envoy, Rob Malley, mysteriously disappeared from duties several weeks ago. We now know a bit of the reason: he was dealing with non-official Iranian advisors! Was that on his own or did “the big guy” put him up to it (promising a place in the witness protection program!) in his mighty quest to get an Iran deal done…no matter how horrible it might be!?!

But wait, there’s more! Is the White House coordinating anti-government criticism in Israel? It certainly seems that way when Biden and his cronies cozy up to two former Prime Ministers who will do anything to run Benjamin Netanyahu into a ditch and out of public office. (Hmmm…that sounds familiar! I wonder if there is a connection there!?!)

Oh, but never fear! It is believed Biden is preparing to “reassess” the US-Israeli relationship. Granted, there have been multiple reassessments by past presidents. However, Biden is expected to deliver “tough love” to the Jewish state when Israeli President Isaac Herzog (a figurehead with little to no political power) visits Washington later this week.

Dear friends, it is sad to say, but Israel has no friend in the White House today. Biden is not interested in blessing Israel, so will lead America down a pathway promised to be filled with curses.

On the bright side, Israeli and American militaries continue their steadfast partnership, despite the Commander-in-Chief being off his rocker. In May, US military officials were on hand for the successful operational tests of David’s Sling, the next in line of high-tech Israeli defense systems. Designed to intercepts ballistic missiles, drones, cruise missiles and aircraft, David’s Sling is an integral part of Israel’s defense system. Check out how David’s Sling works:

Also of note, Israeli and American military might joined forces for an operational joint military drill last week in Israel. There, they simulated potential attacks on Iranian missile systems. Israel now has fighter power to take care of business in Iran, but is still looking to the US for logistical support, such as refueling tankers, etc

It is definitely mixed news today…a US president blew off our greatest ally, yet American and Israeli militaries proudly join forces to show the world a strong, capable front. Let’s just hope the current White House occupant doesn’t “take his toys and go home.” If so, America is in grave danger.

Please pray for America’s leaders. We need desperately to stand on the blessing side of the scale!
