One of the most impacting stops on our Israel tours is at Home of Jesus the King Church in Nazareth. God’s Word tells us that Jesus grew up, the son of a carpenter (or stoneworker), in Nazareth. Today, the city is mostly Arab, but is also home of one of the brightest lights shining for Jesus Christ in all of Israel.

Many years ago at a conference in Washington DC, I heard Pastor Saleem Shalash share his testimony and the story of his church, Home of Jesus the King. Pastor Saleem is an Arab Christian, and I have never heard a more passionate pastor! Later, when we began leading tours to Israel, I knew that meeting Pastor Saleem and visiting HJTK would provide a fantastic perspective of Christian life in Israel to our tour guests. Now, after several tours, our guests cite that stop as one of the most impacting of the entire tour!

Pastor Saleem is a visionary and under his guidance the congregation reaches Nazareth and beyond with humanitarian assistance and bold sharing of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In addition, Pastor Saleem works vigilantly with Messianic pastors to build bridges between Arabs and Jews. He also teaches worldwide.

God is moving in the most miraculous ways in Nazareth, and Home of Jesus the King Church is at the center of that work! We will visit Pastor Saleem on our next available trip to Israel in February 2024, and I hope you will join us!
