What an exciting time to be alive, and what an exciting time to go to Israel!
More and more, people are saying to me, “Aren’t you afraid to go to Israel right now?” My answer: “Heavens no! Have you read your Bible!?!”
Dear friends, the Bible talks about Israel being safe, secure, and prosperous in the last days. We see that today! But some point out that the Bible also says Israel will be invaded from the north by a large coalition, led by Russia. Indeed, that is true, and we have featured that Ezekiel 38-39 prophecy many times on this blog.
While it is true that nations such as Russia, Iran, Turkey, Sudan, Libya and perhaps others in those neighborhoods will invade Israel with such force that God Himself will take action on Israel’s behalf, two very key things should come to mind for believers.
First, it does appear the stage is being set for that invasion. Russia, Iran and Turkey all have a presence in Syria, across Israel’s northern border. However, Russia currently has their hands full with Ukraine and is not in position at the moment to lead the charge into Israel. Also, Iran is constantly being frustrated by the mostly covert operations of the Israeli Defense Forces who have eyes and ears on everything that comes and goes from Iran. Though they are getting close, Iran does not yet have the means to deliver nuclear weapons, as has long been their goal when it comes to Israel. Add to that, Israel has military superiority in the Middle East right now. Those things could change quickly, but as of now, Israel remains safe, secure and prosperous, and Russia, who is certainly a larger world military power than Israel, is tied up elsewhere.
Secondly, there are some who believe the Ezekiel 38-39 invasion will be part of the tribulation. Personally, I don’t find enough Biblical evidence one way or another to be dogmatic about that position. But what I am certain of is that God has a plan and a future for both Israel and the believing body of Christ. If the invasion is forestalled until the tribulation, believers are out of here via the rapture before the tribulation begins! If that’s the case, wouldn’t it be great to be raptured from Israel!
Yes, I believe we are living in the last days, and that life as we know it on earth is moving toward a glorious rapture of believers! It could happen before we even go to Israel…or the Lord could tarry and the rapture may not happen for years. We don’t know the day or the hour, but we should not be fearful as believers! We know our ultimate destiny.
BTW, here is Pastor Jack Hibbs talking about some interesting facts surrounding the Ezekiel 38-39 prophecy. Look up, for our redemption draws near!
