That seems like a silly question, doesn’t it! Why would we think of Moses at Christmas? Well, what if I told you there are amazing parallels between Moses and Jesus, which point us to redemption? Suddenly, we might begin to think of Moses at Christmas!

Consider God’s Word to Moses:

¹⁸ I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. And I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him.

~Deuteronomy 18:18

The Jewish people were in exile when God spoke those words to Moses. They were oppressed and harshly ruled. Likewise, during Jesus’ day, those living in Israel were under the iron fist of the Roman empire. Both needed a deliverer!

The parallels don’t end there. In fact, there are many, and you will be blessed to hear how creative and faithful God was to take two willing servants and turn them into deliverers! Take seven minutes to discover how hopeless moments brought glory to God in ancient times, and how it can happen again! This year, as you look to Christmas, don’t forget to consider Moses!
