Exploring Israel – Magdala and Tabgha

Boker tov, fellow travelers! Jump on board our bus for a short drive to two of the many unimaginable places in the Galilee area where we know Jesus walked. It is our first experience touching stones that Jesus almost assuredly touched, and entering places Jesus definitely entered. Those are breath-taking moments that are never forgotten.

Two of those places are Magdala, where the Magdala stone of Jesus’ day once served as the table upon which the Torah was unrolled in the synagogue. The 1st century synagogue has been unearthed, so being there, imagining Jesus Himself reading the Torah (as He almost certainly did), leaves our guests breathless.

A visit to Tabgha, a small seaside village from where Jesus called His first disciples is also an unforgettable experience.

Study more about both here…

This was a fantastic day, but bid erev tov (good evening) to our bus driver and prepare to visit more sites around the Sea of Galilee tomorrow!
