Happy Lord’s Day! Take a look at the magnificent scene (pictured above) in Israel yesterday!

As you may or may not know, Israel is a major migratory path for birds flying north and south between Europe, Asia and Africa. Indeed, Israel is a bird-watchers paradise. Lots of lush valleys and plentiful ponds in the Galilee area serve as a way point for huge flocks of various species as they make their way to seasonal destinations.

Yesterday, someone snapped the photo above of a small flock silhouetted before a rainbow…God’s promise that He will never again destroy the earth with water. I am reminded of the part birds played in the account, as Noah sent them out, after the flood, in search of dry land.

On this blessed Lord’s Day, stop to meditate on the greatness of our God, and His goodness to us. Just as the rainbow is a sign of His promise, so too is our salvation a promise that He will redeem us spirit, soul, and body from this earth one day, and we will be with Him forever!

Praise God for His promises!
