This Veteran’s Day, I Wonder…

Dear friends, today is Veteran’s Day in the US and I am humbled by the commitment and sacrifice of those who wear the uniforms of the US Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard and Space Force. Men and women who put aside their civilian lives to put their physical lives in harm’s way in order to protect our lives and freedoms are true heroes.

Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.

~John 15:13

For every veteran we have lost, may God comfort family and friends and may their warrior’s memory be a blessing. To every living veteran, may you have a keen sense of how deeply you are appreciated, and may God’s abundant blessings be yours. To every active service member, I say a heartfelt, “THANK YOU!”

But, particularly on this Veteran’s Day, I wonder what veterans would say to us? Would they implore us not to surrender to fear and intimidation, but stand up and embrace the freedom they fought so hard to defend? Would they encourage us to be bold and courageous as we stand against the evils of this world, as they did?

I think they would. May we never diminish the sacrifices they made, rather may we exhibit the kind of courage and fortitude they displayed in serving our country.

“Father God, bless the men and women who have served our country with such honor and pride. May their example of fighting for American freedom and liberty be the impetus for each of us to do likewise in every area of our personal and civic lives. Please embolden us to speak up and take back what socialism, Marxism and other social ills of our society have stolen from us. Equip us to be warriors for truth and proclaimers of the Gospel. Today, O Lord, grant abundant mercy and blessing to every American veteran. In the Name above all Names, our Lord Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen”
