Happy Lord’s Day, dear friends! Let’s turn our hearts toward the Lord today.
As we continue to feel our way through uncharted waters of a new administration headed in a direction many of us never hoped to go, my prayer is that you find encouragement, not in what our government will do, but in what our Lord God has already done!
I studied Romans 5 a few days ago and was greatly encouraged by the message of HOPE! Perhaps you will be too. Take a look:
5 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we also have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we celebrate in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only this, but we also celebrate in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; 4 and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; 5 and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
~Romans 5:1-5
What comfort…what peace! We celebrate in hope of the glory of God, and that hope does not disappoint us! Time after time, the psalmists put their hope in God! (Find examples here!) Oh, that we might find hope in nothing else other than the Lord Jesus Christ who has poured out His love within our hearts!
The Lord brought this precious, timeless hymn to mind as I finished that study. It took me back in time to my Southern Baptist roots! What great theology put to music. I hope it blesses you as it did me!
