High Drama Between Iran and US: Look Not at the Things You See

Happy Lord’s Day, my friends! If you have followed the news and are anxious about the situation between Iran and the US, let’s take a step back and a big, deep breath! Yes, we are seeing highly intensified escalation between Iran and the US, and unprecedented signs of the times. However, King Jesus still sits on the throne!

2 Corinthians 4:18 (above) gives us a key to living in these tumultuous times: We must know where to fix our eyes! Hebrews 12:2 echoes Paul’s exhortation.

Colossians 3:1-3 goes a step further to include our minds. Check out the words of Paul to the Colossians:

Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

This earth is not our home, and what goes on here is temporary in light of all eternity! Though we live in this world, Jesus Himself said we (believers) are not of this world (John 17:16). Our eternal home is with Him(1 John 2:17)

Let’s put it into practice! Find a quiet place to fix your eyes on Jesus. He speaks to us through His Word, so take 3 minutes to read the 29 verses of 1 John 2. I promise you will be blessed!

PS: Fixing our eyes on Jesus requires clear and constant focus. Discerning the times in which we live requires looking intently into God’s Word. To that end, something new is coming to Looking for the Blessed Hope. Stay tuned…and please pray for clarity and wisdom as plans are finalized.
