Why Don’t Passover and Easter Always Coincide?

As Passover week commenced Friday evening, and with Good Friday and Resurrection Day this weekend, Jewish and Christian celebrations coincide this year. However, that is not always the case. In fact, it is somewhat unusual and they can be weeks apart at times.

Why is that?
