As I contemplate the homegoing of Billy Graham, I think about the joy he experiences now in the presence of the Lord Jesus. While in his earthly body, Billy Graham lived a lifetime preaching the gospel, and here is that message in a nutshell:
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.
~1 Corinthians 15:3-4
The gospel is really pretty simple:
- Jesus died for our sins,
- He was buried,
- He was raised on the third day, destroying the power of sin.
Today, I believe there is someone reading this post who the Lord is calling into relationship. You may be a regular follower of this blog, or perhaps this is your first time here…but nothing is by accident. The Lord has brought you here right now for a very special purpose: to invite you into a relationship with Him, and to give you the peace that only He can give.
Just as certain that Billy Graham is now absent from the body, but at home in the presence of the Lord, you too can have the same assurance when you die. The timeless message of salvation that Billy Graham preached has been left especially for you, and you can see it here:
Today is your day. Please respond to Jesus Christ and find peace with God.
