With Hezbollah active in Syria and tensions running high, Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah issued a warning to Israel this morning, indicating that Israel is pushing the region to war. Reportedly speaking from the bunker in which he seeks refuge and safety, Nasrallah’s threat has drawn response from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:
“We are taking action against those who wish to destroy us, and I say to all our enemies: we will aggressively retaliate to any attack against us.”
In the past five years, it is believed that Israel has struck at least 100 Hezbollah targets, primarily weapon convoys from Syria headed toward Hezbollah positions in Lebanon.
Are the two world leaders simply rattling sabers or are actions about to heat up once again in Syria and Lebanon? Only time will tell…stay tuned.
